Advanced Facial Models for Rendering of Virtual Humans

Description

This PhD project will build on current state-of-the-art applying advanced facial generation techniques from deep learning, such as StyleGAN, to build photo-realistic ‘random’ 3D facial models that can be subsequently rendered to multiple 2D poses. A particular focus of this research will be on the photorealistic rendering of facial textures at NIR and LWIR frequencies so that these models can generate multi-wavelength representations. In addition this work will seek to go beyond existing facial datasets by rendering additional ground truth information from the 3D animations.
